Introduction of tour guide

Self-introduction

  • I’m Phil Nakahira and my hobies are clibming, hiking and camping.
  • I traveled all over Japan by motorcycle and bicycle, from Hokkaido to Shikoku and Kagoshima in Kyushu.
  • Passed the Chuo Ward Certified Tour Guide Exam in February 2026.

Experience

I worked at trading company for 30 years, conducting business with 10 countries and visiting each of them. When I had to rush through famous sights in a limited amount of time on weekend trips, I mainly relied on sightseeing buses or walked as much as possible. While sightseeing buses only gave me a superficial impression, walking allowed me to interact with the sites and soak in the atmosphere—though I reached the limited specific areas only.
This bike tour combines the best of both worlds. The area around Chuo Ward in Tokyo, in particular, is ideal for bike tours with benefit of flat terrain.

A story from Business Trip Abroad

After hike in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland, I lay down on meadow, felt by how close the clouds seemed and ended up sleeping there for an hour. I rushed to Geneva Airport, but was stunned to miss my flight to Munich by a hair’s breadth.
Looking at map of Europe, I realized the two cities were closer than my guess, so I took train, made the connection at midnight and made just in time for the next day’s meeting.
I had hoped to get a good night’s sleep on the train, but the elderly woman sharing my compartment liked talking which made me awake until late into the night. Looking back, it’s a fond memory.
